After letting my wife's family take our two year old home on Sunday we had a quiet-ish night at home. The last quiet night we'd have for a while. We stayed up a bit too late watching the season finale of the "Next Food Network Star".
... but I digress.
After a night full of more anticipation than Christmas eve we woke up at 4am. Actually, since my wife's slower at getting ready, she got up and I snuggled up tighter in my warm blankets. Once we were both coherent enough to function, we made our way to the hospital.
After about an hour and a half of preliminary stuff *yawn* they finally wheeled her off to the O.R.. (*NOTE: They were a little concerned about her blood pressure. It was pretty high.*) About fifteen minutes later they allowed me to join the party. We all had hats, though the masks were a bit odd. Though, I'm told the blue scrubs made my eyes ' pop '. It wasn't a colorful party, just blues and greens, until they broke out the scalpel.
I think most of you will appreciate that I'll omit further details.
It was fascinating. I captured it all on video for her viewing pleasure, if anyone is interested in borrowing the DVD, just drop her a note.
At 8:05am they pulled my new son Ayden out of his warm womb that had been the only home he'd ever known. He protested. Though, his frustration ended when they placed him beneath the warming lamps and wiped the goo off of him.
After ensuring the Doctor had placed all the sutures in the correct place, I joined the nurses in collecting the important stats.
Height (length... I guess): 21.5 inches (the same as Asher's when he was born)
Weight: 9 lb 12 oz - (7 oz more than Asher)
**Update** we just got home yesterday. Mother and son are doing well!

CAPTAIN AMERICA: Heroes are important. They teach us, define us, give us ideals to aspire to. But heroes don't live forever. And when they're gone, that's when we all have to step up and do our duty. For we are all Americans.

It takes a life time to build trust yet it only takes suspicion, not proof, to destroy it.
^^
I'll just leave it at that.
